Raspberry leaf tea is well known as the go to tea for pregnancy and labor. I used it during all three of mine as it was the number one recommended tea by my mid-wife for relieving morning sickness all the way to facilitating an easier birth. It contains an alkaloid called fragine which can strengthen the muscles of the uterus thus aiding in the birthing process as well as helping the body to return to it’s pre-pregnancy state. It has even been shown to improve the implantation process and reduce miscarriage! All you want to be Mamas and soon to be Mamas definitely need to be adding a cup of this nutrient dense tea into your day.
It is a hormone balancer and can also be used for regulating heavy periods and cramps. This can be good for tweens all the way through to post menopause. I have been using it for my teenage girls with great results! Not only does it help to regulate hormones but it also helps the body to detoxify bad estrogens – such as those found in everything from make-up to pesticides. It is high in magnesium, calcium (the good kind), iron, B vitamins, and potassium. It is safe at all stages of life and for both men and women plus it tastes great.
I collect this tea in Northern Ontario each year right at the peek of the season. It is a beautiful part of the world that has few residents and much wilderness.
